(3)Interview


 

(1)Interview preparations:

 I went to starbucks in the morning. Someone look like Chinese guy. I asked him to do the interview. His name is MOHL. Student at SCSU his major is accounting. He has been in the United States two years. I gave him one copy of the questions and we start the interview.

 

2) Interview report:

The interview went great and I learned a lot from him. China has different culture because many different people live there. I enjoyed talking with him and  the Interview was clear



(3) Interview transcription

A: What is your name and where are you from?

B: My name is MOHL and I am from china

A: what is your major?

B: My major is accounting

A: great, do you like it?

B: there is a big company in china and I want to be accounting there.

A: so, does this company give a financial guarantee to study there?

B: No, the governments pay for my tuition

A: Ok, why you came to Saint Cloud?

B: Well, I did not choose to study there but, my government did

A: How long have you been in the United States?

B: I have been here about 2 years

A: Do you enjoy speaking with other exchange students?

B: Yes, I love that. I could see the difference between cultures and know more about countries

A: How do you communicate with each other in your home country?

B: I could use phone or meet with them in a coffee. We speak Chinese and we have a lot of local dialects

A: What is the clothing style for men and women?

B: There is no such different between here and China, but we have traditional clothes

A: How are women and men treated differently?

B:  Exactly the same. Man could do more jobs

A: How has your experience here helped you interpret and respect cultural differences?

B: studying in china is very difficult but here it became easier for me

A: How often do you communicate with your family back at home?

B: Each two days I use Skype to call them

A: Do you get culture shock when you first come here?

B: No because we are in a small town and people there are friendly

A: Have you been able to visit any other parts of the United States?

B: I went to New York in the New Year's. It was fun  

A: What are your home country’s major religions?

B: We have all religion in China because it is large county 

A: after you graduate, what are you going to do?

B: I want to go back to China and work there

A: Do you have any questions for me?

B: no, I was happy to answer your question

A: thank you so much and nice to meet you
